Social Services work to help fill in the gaps and provide assistance in time of need.
Are we meeting the needs of our population?

Residents of lower-income neighborhoods may find it difficult to access fresh, healthy, affordable foods. Above and beyond fresh and healthy food access issues, many individuals simply lack the resources to afford enough food. These “food insecure’ households may need to regularly make trade-offs between basic needs like housing and medical expenses and purchasing nutritionally adequate food. Over 40,000 people in NW Michigan are considered food-insecure.
